According to Sport, Barcelona are interested in signing Miguel Azeez from Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
The La Liga champions want to secure the services of Azeez on a free transfer despite the 20-year-old English midfielder having a contract with Arsenal until the summer of 2024.
Barcelona would allow Arsenal to have a percentage of any future sale of the youngster, according to the report.
Sport have added that Barcelona want to sign the Arsenal prospect for their B team – FC Barcelona Atletic team.
What should Arsenal youngster Miguel Azeez do about Barcelona interest?
In our opinion, Miguel Azeez should not leave Arsenal for Barcelona in the summer transfer window only to play for the Spanish giants’ B team.
Yes, the 20-year-old is unlikely to get into the Arsenal first team next season, but it seems that he would not play for the Barcelona senior side either.
So, we do not see any reason for Azeez to make the switch now.
It would make sense for the youngster to stay at Arsenal and fight for his place in the first team or go out on loan to another club.
And, if it does not work out, then Azeez could just leave on a free next summer and find a club where he would grow and progress.
