Report: Barcelona think ‘unbelievable’ player is going to join Liverpool

Barcelona are refusing to move for Thiago as they think that he is heading to Liverpool, Mundo Deportivo report.

Thiago has been heavily linked with Liverpool this summer, although the Reds are yet to agree a price with Bayern Munich.

Liverpool’s hesitation over a deal has caused some concern around Anfield that they could be beaten to the punch in the race to sign him.

With Barcelona looking at a central midfielder, a potential return for Thiago to the Nou Camp has been talked up.

However, Barca apparently won’t move for the 29-year-old, who was recently hailed as ‘unbelievable’ by Mason Mount (Sport Bible), as they think that he is heading to Liverpool.

Barca are said to believed that negotiations will simply be too difficult right now, as Liverpool are so close to signing him.

Intriguingly Barca could well move for Georginio Wijnaldum, and if the Dutchman does leave Liverpool, that could be the decisive moment which forces Jurgen Klopp’s side to finalise a deal for the Bayern midfielder.
