According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona talent Alex Collado will decide on a move this week amid links to Celtic.
It’s claimed that Barcelona are open to letting Collado leave, given that he has less than a year left on his contract at the Camp Nou.
Girona are keen to sign Collado, whilst unnamed teams in Spain’s top flight, second tier and Serie A are thought to be in the race too.
The 21-year-old will ‘decide his fate’ this week, meaning Celtic will be watching developments very closely ahead of a possible bid.
The Scottish Daily Mail (23/09, back page and p86) reported that Celtic want to sign Collado, with Nick Hammond casting his eye over the Spaniard.
Primarily a right-sided winger who cuts in on his left foot, Collado spent last season in Barcelona B, bagging five goals and five assists.

With so many other clubs keen, Celtic face a fight to sign Collado, who they may believe has potential to become a star, even if not quite at Barcelona’s level.
The next few days will be crucial to Celtic’s pursuit, and they will seemingly have a chance to land him permanently rather than just in a loan deal.
