Chelsea and Newcastle United have been linked with Ousmane Dembele, but it seems that the Blues and the Magpies will miss out on the signing of the Barcelona forward in the summer transfer window.
According to a report in Calciomercato.it in March 2023, Newcastle and Chelsea are among the clubs who are keen on signing Dembele.
The report in the Italian news outlet added that Manchester United, Juventus and Inter Milan also hold interest in the France international forward, whose “pace is frightening in training”, according to comments from former Barcelona star Lionel Messi in GiveMeSport in March 2020.
Fabrizio Romano has now given an update on the situation of Dembele.
The Italian journalist has claimed on Twitter that Barcelona have offered the 25-year-old a new contract.
Romano has added that the Frenchman wants to stay at Barcelona, and that talks will follow between the two parties.
