According to Diari Ara, Barcelona are now considering the sale of Liverpool target Ousmane Dembele in order to sign Arsenal target Marco Asensio.
It was said that Liverpool are eyeing the France international – who has a £42m release clause, which becomes active in 2023 – with Arsenal also monitoring Asensio ahead of his Real Madrid contract expiring in July.
Now, Barcelona may spoil Mikel Arteta’s hopes of signing the Spain international, but Liverpool could benefit by receiving Dembele.
Why Barcelona could sell Liverpool target and thwart Arsenal transfer hopes
Well, Diari Ara claim that the signing of Asensio depends on Dembele leaving the Camp Nou.
Interestingly, Barcelona are seriously thinking about parting ways with the Frenchman, and the Spanish news outlet add that he could even be sold in January once the World Cup is over.

It comes despite Dembele showing signs of improvement under Xavi this season, providing six goal involvements in eight appearances across all competitions.
Despite his upturn in form, it seems Barcelona rate Asensio above the Frenchman, as they are willing to offload him in favour of signing the Spaniard.
Liverpool can upset Arsenal by signing Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona
If Liverpool make a successful move for Dembele in January, they could kill two birds with one stone.
In addition to receiving a talented winger – who would certainly improve Jürgen Klopp’s attacking options – the Reds could also spoil the plans of a top six rival in the Premier League.
Taking Dembele away from Barcelona is likely to see the Spanish giants push for Asensio, and with the Real Madrid forward himself open to a move to the Camp Nou, Arsenal could miss out.
However – as you can see – a lot of cogs need to turn for this transfer merry go round to materialise, so make sure to keep an eye on the situation.
