According to ESPN, Barcelona have made contact with Hansi Flick after doubts arose over Ronald Koeman’s management.
The news comes just days after The Telegraph claimed that the 56-year-old would be interested in replacing José Mourinho at Tottenham.
The Telegraph‘s report stated that Spurs had not yet reciprocated Flick’s interest, which was strange given his recent accomplishments.
Now, it looks like Daniel Levy could miss out as Barcelona swoop in.
ESPN write that the Spanish giants were told Flick would be replacing Joachim Löw, who stepped down from the Germany job recently.
However, that deal is yet to be rubber stamped, so anything is possible.
Whoever hires Flick will be getting one of the hottest coaches in Europe.
The German won the treble with Bayern Munich last season, lifting the Bundesliga, Champions League and DFB-Pokal.

He was also named UEFA Men’s Coach of the Year for his fine work with the Bavarians.
It isn’t often that a manager with that track record becomes available, so Tottenham should get their act together and contact him if they haven’t already.
If they are yet to, then hopefully Barcelona’s move for him will spark the north Londoners into action.

Of all the potential candidates, Flick is arguably the best option.
Levy would be foolish not to at least interview him.
While Koeman is still in a job, Tottenham have a chance to steal a march on Barcelona – but they must move fast.
The sooner Levy finds his Mourinho replacement, the sooner he can start planning for the summer transfer window.
