Tottenham claimed to have stepped up pursuit of Adrien Rabiot.

France Football reported this week that Mauricio Pochettino has stepped up his aim of convincing Adrien Rabiot to sign for Tottenham.
Barcelona were in the lead to sign Rabiot, and this was questioned this week after a £65 million deal for Ajax’s Frenkie de Jong.
Spanish newspaper Sport report Barcelona still want to sign Rabiot, and are particularly attracted because he is available on a free in the summer.
Pochettino’s latest contact with Rabiot is referenced in the report, and Barcelona are still confident they can win the race.
Sporting director Eric Abidal has already been in touch with Rabiot’s mother, who is his representative.

They have tried to sell Rabiot on the fact he is wanted to become a key part of Barcelona’s future, and they expect to win many trophies.
Tottenham may not be able to guarantee success, but they could offer Rabiot a regular starting role.
Sport also note that Rabiot is seen as ‘not an absolute priority’ for Barcelona, and this relaxed attitude could end up costing them if Tottenham step up their efforts.
