Tottenham reportedly scouted Everton Soares during Gremio’s game against Flamengo earlier this week.

According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona sent a representative to Brazil to watch Gremio’s Everton Soares in action against Flamengo.

The 23-year-old attacker has been a subject of interest from many clubs across Europe since the summer thanks to his brilliant performances for club and country. Sky Sports revealed earlier this week that Tottenham Hotspur also had representatives watching the attacker and they could move in for him in the January transfer window.

Spurs haven’t quite gotten off to the best of starts in the Premier League so far this season. Mauricio Pochettino’s side have won just three of their opening nine games and have struggled to score as many goals as they would have liked.

Pochettino might be on the lookout for attacking reinforcements in the upcoming January transfer window and Everton could well prove to be the answer to their problems. Lucas Moura has been frozen out despite being a star for Spurs in the Champions League last season while Dele Alli has also struggled to be among the goals.

Everton would certainly add a ton of creativity to this Tottenham side who are likely to lose Christian Eriksen either in January or in the summer. However, with Barcelona potentially entering the race to sign the winger, it will not be a straight forward move for the North Londoners.

Daniel Levy has shown that he is not scared to splash the cash with the signing of Tanguy Ndombele earlier in the summer. If the Spurs chief keeps up the same ambition in the next two windows, Spurs could challenge the Catalan giants for the Brazilian and that would be a massive statement of intent.
