Barcelona are set to win the race to sign Sporting Lisbon defender Marcos Rojo, according to the latest reports in Spain.

Rojo arrived in Europe with Spartak Moscow in 2011 when he relocated from his native Argentina, but he only really made a name for himself after signing for Sporting Lisbon a year later.
This season Liverpool scouts have watched Rojo on several occasions as he led a mean defence at Sporting, conceding just 19 goals in 29 games.
As he can play at either centre-back or left-back, Rojo provides options and could take the pressure off Jose Enrique and he is a dominant physical presence that could adapt well to English football.
The Catalan giants have allegedly tabled an offer that Sporting are ready to accept and are trying to speed up matters to prevent Liverpool getting in.
Liverpool may have to move fast if they don’t want to miss out on Rojo, who appears to be a player Rodgers has set his heart on signing.
Serie A side Napoli have also been linked to Rojo, but they may find themselves priced out of the market.
