Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are now scrambling to rush through a January deal for Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong having been left worried by Tottenham rumours.
Barca added two central midfield players this summer having snapped up Arthur Melo and Arturo Vidal, but are still keen on adding a deep-lying playmaker.
Ernesto Valverde is looking for a player to become the heir to Sergio Busquets in midfield, and one of the top names touted for the role is Ajax ace Frenkie de Jong.
De Jong, 21, joined Ajax from Willem II in 2015, and has starred in his 37 first-team appearances for the Amsterdam giants, earning a call-up to the senior Netherlands squad in the process.
The midfielder is a wanted man across Europe, and Mundo Deportivo report that Barcelona are now attempting to rush through a deal to secure De Jong’s signature in 2019 having become concerned about speculation elsewhere.
The Express reported over the weekend that Tottenham are interested in signing £40million-rated De Jong, with Mauricio Pochettino keen to add a midfielder to his squad amid rumours over Mousa Dembele’s future.

Barcelona are now thought to be worried that Spurs could pip them to De Jong’s signature, and are now attempting to strike a deal before another club can sign him or before his value soars.
That may be a problem for Spurs, but with months to go until the January transfer window opens, there is certainly time for Spurs to make a statement and rival Barcelona for De Jong’s signature.
