Arsenal are reportedly looking to keep Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are in talks over new deals for strike duo Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
The Gunners have seen Aubameyang smash seven goals in the first seven Premier League games of the season, including Monday’s equaliser at Manchester United.
Aubameyang already earns around £200,000-a-week (Spotrac), but it’s now claimed that he’s in talks to sign a new deal closer to Mesut Ozil’s £350,000-a-week deal.
Fellow striker Lacazette, who is currently out injured, is also in talks about a new deal, more than two years since making a £52million move from Lyon to the Emirates Stadium (The Independent).
That would be great news for Arsenal, keeping their star strikers together. However, there is a major fear that playmaker Ozil won’t be leaving the club in January despite having no role to play under Unai Emery.
Arsenal want to either sell or loan out Ozil, even to the extent that they would pay some of his wages to move on, but fear that the will sit tight and stay at the club.
The Gunners need to get that frankly ridiculous contract off the books, helping them keep hold of Aubameyang and Lacazette, but finding a suitor for the 30-year-old could be really difficult given his lack of playing time over the last year and those huge wages.
