Huddersfield Town are reportedly keen on Newcastle United’s Christian Atsu.

According to Ghana Soccernet, Huddersfield Town are preparing to move for Newcastle United winger Christian Atsu if the Magpies sign Genk’s Anthony Limbombe.

The Terriers have already added Ramadan Sobhi this summer, but having allowed Tom Ince to leave for Stoke City, David Wagner remains keen to bring in one more winger before the transfer deadline.

Huddersfield have been linked with a host of wide men so far this summer, and now another can be added to the list in Newcastle United’s Christian Atsu.

Ghana Soccernet report that Huddersfield want to land Atsu to boost their side this summer, but a move may be dependent on Newcastle signing his replacement.

It’s claimed that Newcastle want to sign Genk star Anthony Limbombe, and the Belgian’s potential arrival would free up Atsu to make the move to the John Smith’s Stadium.

Atsu, 26, spent the 2016-17 season on loan with Newcastle before signing a permanent deal last summer, and he started 19 Premier League games last term, registering two goals and one assist.

The Ghanaian speedster may find first-team football hard to come by next season with Kenedy in front of him, and his chances of playing would decline even further if Rafael Benitez can snap up Limbombe.

Limbombe hit six goals and six assists last season and would bring similar pace to the Newcastle side, but could free up Atsu to head to West Yorkshire this summer.
