According to Tuttomercatoweb, Atletico Madrid could swoop for Roma winger Justin Kluivert as Arsenal ‘do not seem willing to accelerate’ their interest.
It’s claimed Atletico have taken ‘concrete steps’ towards signing the Dutch talent, with Diego Simeone seemingly keen to bring him to Spain.
Roma value Kluivert at around €35million (£31.5million), and would be willing to pull off a part-exchange deal with Arsenal if they come forward.
Roma want loanee Henrikh Mkhitaryan permanently, and would want between €10million and €15million (£9million and £13.5million) plus the Armenian for Kluivert.
So far, Arsenal have yet to really push for that deal, so Atletico now want to swoop in and hijack the move with a cash bid for Kluivert.
Calciomercato reported earlier this week that Mino Raiola – who represents both players – is working hard to engineer the swap deal, with Roma unwilling to do a straight swap.

There appears to be some distance between the demands of the two clubs as things stand, and that gives Atletico the ideal chance to swoop in for Kluivert.
The 21-year-old hit seven goals and two assists this season, and still has plenty of untapped potential. If Arsenal want him, they need to get moving quickly.
