According to David Ornstein of the The Athletic, Arsenal will be without both Emile Smith Rowe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang against Sheffield United today.

Mikel Arteta finds himself under pressure once again at Arsenal, having lost 3-0 to Liverpool last weekend before failing to beat Slavia Prague on Thursday night.

Arsenal simply must beat relegation-bound Sheffield United today, but it looks like they will have to do it it without both Smith Rowe and Aubameyang.

It’s claimed that Smith Rowe is out with an ankle problem, having suffered the knock during the Europa League clash with Slavia.

Aubameyang is out with flu and won’t be involved at all after coming off the bench to set up Nicolas Pepe’s goal on Thursday night.

That leaves Arteta’s options in the final third depleted, with Martin Odegaard also a doubt having missed the game against Slavia.

This may be a chance for Gabriel Martinelli to feature on the left flank, though Bukayo Saka is likely to play and Pepe could feature on the opposite flank.

As for a number 10, Willian may be needed in that area if Smith Rowe and Odegaard are both missing, which isn’t exactly ideal given his poor season.

Still, Arsenal should be in a position to beat a dismal Blades side – and if they don’t, Arteta will have questions to answer, even if he is missing Aubameyang and Smith Rowe.
