Joachim Andersen should not be ruled out as a potential Tottenham Hotspur signing this summer, the Athletic say.

The Fulham centre-back has been on Tottenham’s radar before, but no deal was ever completed.

Andersen has since gone on to prove his quality in the Premier League, with his performances for Fulham catching the eye.

Fulham may be fighting against the drop, but Andersen has really solidified their back-line and looked a leader in the process.

With Tottenham now looking to strengthen at the back, it was put to Jack Pitt-Brooke of the Athletic that Andersen may be a good option.

And the Athletic journalist insisted that the transfer is one which shouldn’t be ruled out.

Andersen, of course, would be making a big step up by moving to Spurs.

But all the signs suggest that he could be an upgrade on Jose Mourinho’s current options and help to tighten up Tottenham’s backline for next campaign.

To add another sweetener to any potential transfer, Anderson has claimed on Foot Mercato that he snubbed Arsenal previously, which may already help to endear himself to Tottenham fans.

Interestingly Alasdair Gold also backed up the claims in Football London, by suggesting Andersen could be a Tottenham target later in the day.
