Is Pierluigi Gollini going to leave Aston Villa this summer?

The Express and Star reported today that Pierluigi Gollini might join Atalanta on a permanent basis this summer.
The Aston Villa goalkeeper spent the second half of last season on loan with the Serie A outfit, having only joined the Championship club last summer.

However, the Italian stopper, signed by former Aston Villa boss Roberto Di Matteo, who was sacked in October, struggled for game time in Italy and started only four league outings with Atalanta.
With that in mind, it was thought that the 22-year-old would return to Aston Villa following an unspectacular spell with the Italians.
But the Express and Star reported on Monday that they could still sign Gollini on a permanent basis anyway.

It would be a surprising move, given that he barely featured, but it remains to be seen whether Villa boss Steve Bruce wants him back.
Bruce replaced Gollini by signing Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone on loan for the second half of last season and rumour has it that he will try and bring the 24-year-old back to Villa Park on a permanent basis (Express and Star).
