Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack may finally be close to sealing a move away from the Championship club.

Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack is closing in on a loan move away from Steve Bruce’s side, with the Daily Mail reporting that Central Coast Mariners are looking at agreeing a deal for the 32-year-old this week.
The deal to bring McCormack to Villa Park has been a pretty disastrous one for the Championship side. He has barely featured for the club following a very underwhelming first season and has spent much of his time on the Villans’ books out on loan.
A disappointing stint with Nottingham Forest was followed by a spell in Australia that would have restored the former Scotland international’s confidence as he scored 13 goals in 15 appearances for Melbourne City. And it now appears that he may be set to return Down Under.

With McCormack’s options now limited following the closure of the transfer window across most of Europe, it would appear to be an option that probably suits all parties, especially if the Australian side are able to pay any substantial portion of the forward’s wages.
It could prove especially interesting if McCormack seals a Central Coast move as he could end up forming a strike partnership with the fastest man on the planet with Usain Bolt currently training with the club in the hope of landing a deal himself.
