Aston Villa had Axel Tuanzebe on loan last season and he impressed for Dean Smith’s side.

According to a report in the Express and Star, Aston Villa are prepared to wait in their bid to sign Axel Tuanzebe from Manchester United.

Villa really want Tuanzebe back next season, but they know that doing a deal with United won’t be straight forward.

Ole Gunnar Solksjaer still wants to look at the 21-year-old over pre-season to assess whether he is good enough to make an impact at Old Trafford, but Villa are hopeful that he will become available.

Dean Smith is now prepared to wait to see what happens with Tuanzebe at United.

Villa’s plan is to bring the youngster in on a permanent deal, but they could look at loaning him again, if United won’t sell.

If Villa are to take Tuanzebe on a temporary move they want a fee agreed which would allow him to be signed at the end of the season though.

Villa chief Jesus Pitarch has already suggested that the claret and blues should never have sanctioned so many loan deals last season, when they didn’t have the option to make them permanent.

And Villa are now showing that they have learnt from past mistakes in the transfer window.

If Tuanzebe was to be signed by Villa it would unquestionably be a good addition to Smith’s squad, as he proved his worth to the Midlands side with some brilliant performances last term.
