According to a report in the Telegraph, John Terry stands to earn a £2 million promotion bonus, if Aston Villa win on Saturday.

Villa are hoping to agree a new deal with Terry, to keep him at the club for the long-term.

But in his current contract, Terry was offered a £2 million promotion bonus at the start of the season.

It provides the veteran centre-back with even more incentive to help his side to victory at the weekend.

Terry is certain to start on Saturday, with Steve Bruce likely to pick the ex-England international alongside James Chester.

Villa go into their match with Fulham as the underdogs, but they do have the experience advantage in the contest.

The likes of Terry, Mile Jedinak and Alan Hutton have all played on the big stage before and will be hoping to guide their younger teammates through one of the most pressurised games in English football.

Villa made it to Wembley by beating Middlesbrough in the semi-final, while Fulham managed to get past Derby County.
