Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa are interested in signing Craig Dawson from David Moyes’s West Ham United in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun.
Aston Villa eye West Ham’s Craig Dawson
The report in the British tabloid has claimed that Villa manager Steven Gerrard is trying to sign Dawson from the Hammers before the summer transfer window closes next week.
The 32-year-old English centre-back is reportedly wiling to leave the Hammers for more playing time.
The Sun have added that Gerrard will give a two-year contract to the former West Bromwich Albion defender, who earns £52,000 per week as salary at the moment (SalarySport).
However, according to the report, West Ham are reluctant to sell Dawson right now.

Could a transfer happen?
In our opinion, Aston Villa could be able to sign Craig Dawson from Premier League rivals West Ham United in the summer transfer window.
The 32-year-old centre-back reportedly wants playing time, and he could get that at Villa given the injury to Diego Carlos.
Now, of course, West Ham will not want to sell an experienced defender who could come handy as the season progresses, but if Dawson insists and Villa make a really good offer, then the Hammers could cash in on him.
