The 24-year-old is a former Belgium under-21 international.
Aston Villa are reportedly interested in the signing of KV Oostende defender Bruno Godeau, according to Voetbal Nieuws in Belgium.
The report claims that Aston Villa have been impressed with the player this season and are hopeful of bringing him to the club this month.
General view of Villa Park
Godeau is a 24-year-old centre-back who only joined Oostende about a year ago, but has impressed in that time.
The former Anderlecht and MTK Budapest youngster joined the club from Zulte Waregem in February and has worked his way into the first-team at the club this season. He has played 10 games in the Belgian top-flight – as Oostende sit fourth in the table.
Despite his good form this season, his arrival would be seen as something of a surprise.
Aston Villa Manager Steve Bruce
This is the first time he has really shown consistent good form at the club and Aston Villa already have good defensive options in Nathan Baker, James Chester and Tommy Elphick.
However, Steve Bruce is no doubt still hoping to put his own spin on the team and perhaps Godeau is a player he sees as a part of that process.
