Aston Villa are reportedly keen on Huddersfield Town striker Nahki Wells.

According to The Telegraph, Aston Villa are looking to sign Huddersfield Town striker Nahki Wells to boost their attacking options.
Villa have opened the Championship season with a defeat, a win and a draw, giving manager Roberto Di Matteo plenty to think about as he attempts to mount a promotion push, and he’s certainly active in the transfer market.

Since landing the job in June, Di Matteo has snapped up Pierluigi Gollini, James Chester, Tommy Elphick, Aaron Tshibola, Mile Jedinak and Ross McCormack, revolutionising his squad – and he may not be done just yet.
Whilst Di Matteo has McCormack, Rudy Gestede and Jordan Ayew at his disposal, the Italian appears keen to add another striker, with The Telegraph reporting that Huddersfield Town star Nahki Wells is a top target.

Wells, 26, has become one of the Championship’s most dangerous strikers since joining Huddersfield from local rivals Bradford City in January 2014, smashing 17 goals last season and 11 goals the season prior.
A pacey forward who lives on the shoulder of the last defender, Wells has nine caps and five goals for Bermuda to his name, and featured against Villa as a substitute in midweek having been rested by manager David Wagner.

Now, Di Matteo is allegedly ‘determined’ to land a new striker before the transfer deadline in less than two weeks, and whilst Chelsea’s Patrick Bamford remains a target, Wells is now wanted by Villa too.
Whilst Gestede is an aerially-dominant target man and McCormack can drop deep and create, Wells would add a different dimension to the Villa attack with his blistering pace, but Villa may have to spend big given that Huddersfield won’t want to lose the striker, particularly to a Championship rival.
