According to The Sun on Sunday (25/04, p60), Aston Villa are now interested in bringing Emiliano Buendia to Villa Park.
It’s claimed that Buendia is a top summer target for Dean Smith and co as they look to add more creativity for next season.
Morgan Sanson is in, but with Ross Barkley heading back to Chelsea and questions marks over Jack Grealish’s future, Buendia is wanted.
The rumour comes just as the Mail claim that Villa want Buendia’s Norwich teammate Todd Cantwell, with Villa seemingly having their sights set on a Canaries raid.
That report suggested that Cantwell will cost £30million, a slightly cheaper alternative to the £40million Norwich want for Buendia.
Having won promotion to the Premier League, Norwich are under no pressure to sell, especially when it comes to Argentinian star Buendia, who has hit 14 goals and 16 assists this season.

Villa wouldn’t be alone in targeting Buendia though, because Eurosport suggest that Arsenal are planning to make a bid for him this summer.
Buendia has the same agent as Emiliano Martinez, the goalkeeper Arsenal sold to Aston Villa last summer.
Both clubs have strong ties to the agent in question, Gustavo Goni, and could now go head-to-head in the race to land Buendia at the end of the season.
