Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to battle over two Bournemouth strikers.

According to the Daily Mail, Aston Villa are interested in signing Benik Afobe, as well as fellow Bournemouth striker Lewis Grabban.
Villa have splashed the cash massively on strikers since suffering relegation, with varying fortunes for Ross McCormack, Jonathan Kodjia and Scott Hogan so far.
McCormack has been a major flop and is now on loan at Melbourne City in Australia, Kodjia has been a goalscoring machine but is now set to miss the rest of the season through injury, whilst Hogan hasn’t lived up to expectations since his January move from Brentford.

Now, despite the emergence of Keinan Davis, manager Steve Bruce looks set to dip back into the transfer market for a new striker, with two players at the same club on his radar.
The Daily Mail report that Villa have discussed a deal for Bournemouth-owned striker Lewis Grabban, as have Wolverhampton Wanderers as the Sunderland loanee looks poised for a January move.
It’s also added that both Villa and Wolves are keen on fellow Bournemouth striker Benik Afobe, though The Sun claim that it would take £15million to prise him away from the Vitality Stadium.

Grabban has hit 11 goals in 17 games on loan for Sunderland this season, but Bournemouth are set to recall him and sell him on, with Villa and Wolves competing for his signature.
However, Afobe may be the bigger prize, and whilst Wolves may be hoping to re-sign their former striker, the DR Congo international would be a huge coup for Villa, offering a proven Championship goal record as Bruce chases promotion.
