Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings spent the second half of the season on loan at Aston Villa.

Aston Villa will make a bid of £15 million for Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings in the summer transfer window, according to The Birmingham Mail.

It has been reported that Villa want to sign Mings on a permanent contract from Bournemouth this summer.

The 26-year-old defender spent the second half of the season on loan at the Villans from the Cherries, having joined the Villa Park outfit in January 2019.

The former Ipswich Town defender played well for Dean Smith’s side and helped them clinch promotion to the Premier League via the Championship playoffs.

According to WhoScored, Mings made 18 appearances in the Championship for Villa, scoring two goals in the process.

The Birmingham Mail has claimed that Villa will make a formal offer of £15m, and that Mings himself is keen on leaving Bournemouth this summer.

Mings joined Bournemouth from Ipswich in 2015 for a transfer fee reported by The Birmingham Mail to be worth £8 million.

The defender has failed to make a massive impact at the Cherries due to injury problems, and a permanent move to Villa does make sense.
