Aston Villa are planning to make a bid for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, according to The Daily Star.

Villa manager Dean Smith is reportedly ready to offer more than £30 million to Chelsea to bring Abraham back to Villa Park.

Smith is claimed to believe that the 23-year-old ‘can still become a top-class forward’.

Tammy Abraham would make Aston Villa better

The England international spent the 2018-19 campaign on loan at Villa and helped the Villans clinch promotion to the Premier League.

Although Abraham played quite regularly for Chelsea in 2019-20, he lost his place in the team this season.

The 23-year-old striker scored 15 goals and gave three assists in 25 Premier League starts for the Blues in 2019-20.

Abraham made only 12 starts and just 10 substitute appearances in the league this season.

The Englishman scored six goals and gave one assist in those games.

Ollie Watkins is the main striker at Villa, but the England international could do with some serious competition.

Abraham – described as “unbelievable” by Villa attacking midfielder Jack Grealish during an Instagram Q&A last year when asked about the England international striker – would make the Villans better and more potent in attack.
