The towering frontman has been linked with a move to England.
Bas Dost
Aston Villa are considering a 10.5 million euro (£9 million) bid for Wolfsburg striker Bas Dost, according to German publication Spox.com.
The report claims that the Villans will face competition for his signature, with Newcastle United willing to pay up to 15 million euros (£12.9 million) for his services.

Sunderland are also linked but their interest doesn’t appear as concrete and it is unclear whether the 27-year old would be interested in a move to the Championship.
Dost worked his way through the Dutch lower leagues until he arrived at Heerenveen, where a remarkable 2011-12 campaign – in which he scored 38 goals in 39 games – attracted the interest of Wolfsburg.

He has since spent four seasons with the Bundesliga giants, scoring 47 times in 115 games, but his tally of ten goals in 31 games last season isn’t the most impressive and could be a factor in the club’s willingness to let him leave.
Villa and Newcastle have both been active in the transfer market this summer and Dost would represent an excellent addition to both squads.
At 6’5, he has the perfect attributes to cope with the physicality of the Championship as well as the proven goalscoring record to suggest he could be a success in England.
