It is one year to the day since the left-back last played for Aston Villa.
Aston Villa’s Joe Bennett scores their fifth goal
Aston Villa have a collection of players seemingly unwanted by manager Roberto Di Matteo.
According to the Birmingham Mail one of these players is left-back Joe Bennett.

This is despite the club pulling the plug on a deal for Bennett to join Sheffield Wednesday earlier this month.
The Birmingham Mail reports that Aston Villa have told Bennett to find himself another club as he is not being considered for first-team action, as Aly Cissokho and Jordan Amavi are currently ahead of him in the pecking order.

But, according to the Birmingham Mail, Villa chairman Tony Xia cancelled a deal for Bennett to join Wednesday earlier this month as he did not want the player joining a side that he sees as a direct promotion rival for Villa.
Bennet joined Villa in 2012 from Middlesbrough and has spent time out on loan with the likes of Brighton, Bournemouth and with Wednesday last season.
Aston Villa’s Adama Traore looks dejected
He has not featured for the Villa first-team since scoring for the club in a 5-3 win over Notts County in the League Cup a year ago today.
Adama Traore, Gabriel Agbonlahor and Joleon Lescott have also been told to find a move.
