A player for whom Aston Villa are said to have bid is ‘getting closer’ to a move elsewhere, according to Le 10 Sport.
The website casts doubts on a rival publication’s claim that Aston Villa have offered €17.5 million (around £16m) for the Nice midfielder, Wylan Cyprien.
And as far as it is concerned, Cyprien has an ‘agreement in principle’ to join Bordeaux.
It adds that while an accord ‘must still be found’ between the Ligue 1 rivals, the issue is well on the way to being resolved.
A move to Aston Villa is not completely ruled out, although Cyprien does favour Bordeaux, according to Le 10 Sport.
Cyprien’s position is one in which Villa are being strongly tipped to strengthen ahead of next month’s transfer deadline.

The Chelsea pair Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are two of the most notable names to be mentioned in the media.
Cyprien, 25, scored or assisted 13 goals in 24 games for Nice last season, but is out of contract at the end of this season, meaning that a sale could be in the Cote d’Azur side’s best interests.
