Aston Villa are reportedly eyeing two Leicester City players.
According to The Telegraph, Aston Villa want to take Leicester City duo Daniel Amartey and Leonardo Ulloa on loan for the rest of the season.
Villa were dumped out of the FA Cup over the weekend with a 3-1 thumping at the hands of Peterborough United, but they remain in the running for promotion back to the Premier League.
Steve Bruce’s men sit fifth in the Championship table, five points away from automatic promotion, and Bruce may feel that a couple of clever additions can help Villa really push for the top two.
With money tight due to Financial Fair Play regulations, loan deals may be Bruce’s priority, and The Telegraph report that Villa are keen on loaning Leicester City duo Daniel Amartey and Leonardo Ulloa.
It’s claimed that Leicester would rather Ulloa signed with a permanent option for the summer, and it remains to be seen whether Villa will commit to that.
The Argentinian hitman, 31, has played just 19 minutes of Premier League football this season, and may feel that he needs a loan move this month in order to get playing again.
Meanwhile, Amartey’s versatility is understood to be appealing to Villa, given that he can play at right back, centre back and in holding midfield.
The 23-year-old Ghanaian, signed from Copenhagen in January 2016, has only played four Premier League games this term, and may also fancy a loan move, with Villa now positioning themselves to target both players.
