The Villa forward is out of favour at the Championship club but seemingly looks set to link up with another team in the division.

Sheffield United appear to have moved a step closer in their pursuit of Scott Hogan as the Aston Villa man has reportedly undergone a medical at the South Yorkshire club ahead of a loan move.
On Monday, Sky Sports News reported that the 26-year-old would be free to leave Villa Park before the January transfer window shuts, with fellow Championship duo United and Bristol City supposedly in pole position for his services.
The same outlet issued a further development on Wednesday morning which suggested that Hogan’s destination for the remainder of the season has been sorted out, and it seems as though it will be Bramall Lane rather than Ashton Gate.
Hogan joined Villa from Brentford in January two years ago for a fee of £9m potentially rising to £12m but he ended up scoring just six times in 37 games during the 2017-18 Championship season, according to Sky Sports News.

This term, the Republic of Ireland international has fallen out of favour at the West Midlands club, with just six Championship appearances as a substitute and only one start in the FA Cup, ominous statistics regarding his future there.
Hogan is contracted to Villa until 2021, according to Transfermarkt, but it remains to be seen whether he could win his place back at Villa next season should he definitely leave this month or if he could be sold – and in that case, whether he would go for a similar amount he came for.
