According to a report in the Express and Star, Aston Villa striker Lewis Grabban is set to make his first start for the club against Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow.

Villa head into their match against Wednesday having failed to win either of their last two contests.

The claret and blues have struggled to replace Jack Grealish and Albert Adomah, who have both been ruled out with injury.

Grealish and Adomah are due to miss Villa’s match against Wednesday at the weekend again, but that could create an opening for Grabban.

The striker, on loan from Bournemouth, scored an equaliser as Villa picked up a point against Preston North End in midweek.

And Bruce is now said to be intending to hand Grabban a starting place at Hillsborough.

Grabban has scored prolifically at Championship level this season, when on loan at Sunderland, and he will be looking to force his way into Bruce’s starting plans by putting in a strong performance against the Owls.

If Villa can win in Yorkshire, they could move to within one point behind Cardiff City, who currently occupy second spot.
