The Aston Villa goalkeeper was in fine form during the last few months of the campaign last season.

According to a report from the Sun, Aston Villa have opened talks over a new contract for Jed Steer, with just 12 months remaining on his current deal at Villa Park.
The 26-year-old joined the Villans on a free transfer from Norwich City in the summer of 2013, but he has gone on to make just 27 appearances in all competitions for the west Midlands outfit.
Steer has spent five separate loan spells away from Aston Villa, but according to the Sun, Dean Smith sees him as an important player for the club.
The British tabloid claims that Smith has been really impressed with Steer, since he took the number one spot from Lovre Kalinic in February.

The 26-year-old was a hero for Aston Villa in the Championship play-off semi-finals, saving two penalties in the shoot-out against West Bromwich Albion, and Smith surely now sees him as his first choice goalkeeper.
Steer currently earns £13,000 per week, according to Silly Season, and it seems as though he will be in line for a significant pay increase following his heroics between the sticks last season.
