Aston Villa are seemingly considering a potential summer move for former Premier League goalkeeper Brad Jones.

Villa arguably have one of the best goalkeepers in the Championship at their disposal right now in Sam Johnstone, but the stopper is only on loan from Manchester United and there does not appear to be too much depth in the squad below Johnstone.

The former Liverpool keeper has made 26 Eredivisie appearances this season, while he has also appeared five times in the Champions League before his side’s exit at the group-stages.

Transfermarkt suggests that Jones’ deal expires at the end of next season, but Goal recently reported that the veteran would be interested in considering a move back to England if the chance presented itself, so perhaps there may be scope for Bruce to get something done.
Villa are currently fourth in the Championship, seven points off the top two with eight games to go after going into the international break off the back of two consecutive defeats this week.
