Aston Villa are seemingly stepping up their pursuit of Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

Henderson is one of the most highly-rated young goalkeepers currently plying their trade in the Football League, with the former England under-20 international currently shining out on loan with Shrewsbury in League One.

The Sun reports that the Villans are considering potential number ones for next season. Sam Johnstone has filled the role since the last January transfer window, but the Englishman is on the same books as Henderson, having signed on loan from Manchester United until the end of the season.
Henderson appears to be coming into their thinking, with The Sun reporting that Bruce sent his scout to watch the starlet last week and the report that came back was positive.

Henderson has certainly made the most of his time in League One, helping Paul Hurst’s men put themselves into promotion contention in the third tier, and demonstrating his potential in their recent FA Cup ties with West Ham.
In more than three and a half hours of football against the Hammers, Henderson conceded just once as the Shrews were agonisingly denied a place in the fourth round – and Villa are perhaps sensing that those displays may see more teams join the race for Henderson if they fail to act quickly.
