Aston Villa just smashed their transfer record to sign Ollie Watkins from Brentford for £28 million (BBC) .
The Villans don’t want to go through a relegation battle like they did last season and their recent signing is certainly a step in the right direction.
Watkins scored 26 times in the Championship for Brentford last season. The 24-year-old will bolster Villa’s attack massively but it looks like Dean Smith isn’t done there.
The Aston Villa boss is reportedly in the market for another attacker. Deich Stube claim that the Villans are interested in signing Werder Bremen’s Milot Rashica in the coming days.
The Kosovo international had a really impressive campaign in the Bundesliga. Rashica scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in all competitions, which helped Bremen stay in the German top flight.
The report claims that Rashica wants to leave and Bremen are open to selling him. The River Islanders want £22.7 million for their star attacker and Villa are allegedly prepared to meet those demands.

That, in an ideal world, would make a potential move straight-forward. Sadly though, Villa will have to work a lot harder to get the deal over the line before the window closes next month.
Rashica is not convinced about joining Villa
The report says that Rashica is not impressed with Villa’s project. The Kosovan is worried that a move to Villa Park will make him part of another relegation battle; something he wants to avoid after what happened with Bremen last season.
Smith will have to convince Rashica about Villa’s ambitions for the upcoming campaign. If he can make a good case, the Kosovan could agree to join them. If he doesn’t, he will likely end up at another club in the very near future.
