Aston Villa are now reportedly warming to the idea of sending Anwar El Ghazi out on loan again with Steven Gerrard struggling to find any buyers for the Dutch international.

According to the Birmingham Mail, Villa are now open to El Ghazi going out on loan with the winger no longer a part of the club’s plans for the upcoming season, with the former LOSC Lille star spending the second half of the last campaign with Everton on a short-term deal.

However, El Ghazi failed to make a single impact at Goodison Park, and with reports suggesting that Villa want £15m for the 27-year-old attacker, it makes sense why the Villains have changed tact over what to do with the versatile winger this summer.

Signed on a permanent deal by Dean Smith back in 2019, El Ghazi has been a mainstay for Villa and a huge reason behind their return and continued success in the Premier League, though with the arrivals last summer of Emi Buendia and Leon Bailey, there’s simply no room for the Netherlands international in the squad.

Indeed, letting go of El Ghazi will be an end of an era for most Villa fans, but with the attacker in desperate need of regular playing time, sending the winger out on loan could be a wise decision from the club, especially if they find a suitor that is a lot more suited to the forward’s style of play.

As we remember, El Ghazi completed failed at Everton last season during his short loan spell at Goodison Park, and Villa will have to ensure that a similar situation doesn’t happen in the upcoming campaign, with the club having to identify the perfect side for the Ajax academy graduate to join.

Villa need to be smart when deciding on loan club for El Ghazi

El Ghazi has proven during his time at Villa that he can be a fantastic performer on his day and a regular supplier of goals and assist when in the right form, and it’s because of this why the club owe it to the winger to find him the perfect loan club for the upcoming season.

Whilst El Ghazi’s contract expires next year, the 27-year-old is simply too good and earning too much to simply sit on the bench and be subjected to brief cameos off the bench, and for Villa, they have the time and resources to make a loan deal possible in the final month of the transfer window.
