Aston Villa have reportedly reached an agreement with Fiorentina over the sale of Carlos Sanchez.
According to reports from Viola News, Aston Villa have reached an agreement in principle with Italian side Fiorentina over the transfer of Carlos Sanchez.
Sanchez joined Aston Villa from Elche back in the summer of 2014 and many believed that the midfielder would prove to be a decent signing for the Midlands-based outfit, especially following his promising performances during the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
As it has turned out though, Sanchez was not able to produce his best at Villa Park over the past two seasons, and following the club’s relegation into the Championship the Colombian international is widely expected to be leaving this summer.
French side Marseille were believed to be interested in signing Sanchez but the 30-year-old’s high wage demands meant that the transfer did not come into fruition (La Provence).
Fiorentina had been mentioned as a possible target for Sanchez earlier this week and Villa manager Roberto Di Matteo went on to confirm recently that the interest from the Italian giants is genuine.
Now in a further update to the transfer story, Viola News have claimed that Villa have reached a ‘tentative’ agreement over the sale of the midfielder to Fiorentina.
However, the two sides are said to be still negotiating over a price for Sanchez as the Italians are not ready to agree to Villa’s demands of around £1.7 million for the player.
