According to The Mirror, Aston Villa are prepared to splash a huge £40million fee on Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham this summer.
Abraham has allegedly been told that he is free to leave Chelsea this summer having barely featured since Thomas Tuchel’s arrival as manager in January.
The 23-year-old needs first-team football, and looks set to leave Chelsea – and Villa are now desperate to bring him back to Villa Park.
Abraham’s first spell at Villa
Abraham joined Villa on loan from Chelsea back in 2018 as Steve Bruce landed a major coup, and he excelled with 26 goals in 40 appearances.
Villa couldn’t keep him, but boss Dean Smith made it clear how much he loved Abraham, praising his ‘great work ethic’ and ‘great quality’.
With Abraham now struggling for minutes at Chelsea, it’s no surprise to see Villa plotting a new move for the striker.

Abraham another step in the right direction
Villa have already made a big splash this summer by signing Norwich City playmaker Emiliano Buendia, and this would be another fine move.
If Villa are to really kick on and push for European football, they will need to find another quality striker to support Ollie Watkins; it hasn’t really worked out for Wesley so far.
Abraham is the kind of player Villa need. He’s a big and physical striker with great predatory instincts, making the ideal partner for the energy and pace of Watkins.
Both are young, talented and English, fitting in well with the Villa squad. They could play together or allow Dean Smith to go with one or the other depending on the game.
Add in that Abraham has already been a favourite in claret and blue, and this deal seems perfect for Villa – even at a huge £40million.
