Aston Villa defenders Micah Richards and Tommy Elphick are both likely to leave Villa Park this summer.

According to a report in the Express and Star, Aston Villa are prepared to sell both Micah Richards and Tommy Elphick this summer.

Villa are looking to cut costs and raise funds, to help finance Steve Bruce’s planned additions.

And both Richards and Elphick have been put up for sale by the Midlands side.

Villa are most keen to offload Richards, who is one of the higher earners at Villa Park.

Richards played just three times for the claret and blues last term, and appears to have no future under Bruce.

The Villans manager is also said to have a number of doubts about Elphick.

The 29-year-old defender was brought in last summer from Bournemouth, but he has failed to impress during his first season at Villa.

Elphick could now make a swift exit from Villa, with Bruce actively looking to sell the defender.

To compensate for the loss of the pair, Villa are expected to bring in Chelsea legend John Terry on a free transfer.
