Jack Grealish has been sensational for Aston Villa recently, and it appears that he may now be in line for a new contract.

It has been an incredibly mixed season for the 22-year-old. A freak injury in pre-season kept him out until November, and considering how serious the injury was, his form since his return has been hugely impressive.

Since the turn of the year, he has scored once in the Championship and provided three assists for a Villa side that appear to have found a completely different gear in recent weeks.
Steve Bruce’s men have now won seven games in a row in the league to move into second place in the table. And with the Villans moving into the top two with an emphatic win over their bitter rivals Birmingham at the weekend, it is safe to say that they have a huge amount of momentum right now.

And it appears that they are already making plans for the summer, with the Mirror reporting that the club are planning contract talks with Grealish – who currently has two-and-a-half years left on his £20,000 a week deal – at the end of the campaign.
Are Villa Premier League-bound?
With Grealish at his best right now, promotion will undoubtedly boost their chances of making sure that the playmaker has no reason to look elsewhere if the offers come in.
And it currently appears that stopping Villa sealing a spot in the top two is going to be a huge task for the fellow promotion-chasers, even those who are within touching distance right now. And if they can secure automatic-promotion and then get Grealish to commit his long-term future to the club, then Villa fans will undoubtedly have plenty of reason to smile after a few hugely disappointing years.
