Tommy Elphick and Gabriel Agbonlahor could leave Aston Villa today.
According to the Daily Mail, Aston Villa are looking to offload Tommy Elphick and Gabriel Agbonlahor from their wage bill before tonight’s transfer deadline.
Villa have been busy in the transfer market this month, as new signing Jacob Bedeau became the sixth new face to arrive at the club this month, joining Sam Johnstone, James Bree, Henri Lansbury, Conor Hourihane and Birkir Bjarnason at Villa Park.

Whilst Get West London report that Brentford striker Scott Hogan is set for a medical with Villa ahead of a big-money move to Villa Park, it seems that Villa will also place emphasis on moving players out too, with Jordan Ayew heading to Swansea and Ashley Westwood joining Burnley.
The Daily Mail report that, with the transfer deadline drawing ever closer, Villa want to offload two big earners today, with defender Tommy Elphick and forward Gabriel Agbonlahor believed to be primed for the chopping block.

Centre back Elphick, 29, joined the club from Bournemouth over the summer, with Villa paying £3million to sign him (BBC Sport), and he was immediately appointed as the club’s new captain by then-manager Roberto Di Matteo.
However, Elphick has recently lost his place in the Villa defence to Nathan Baker, and it’s claimed that Villa would be open to letting the defender go before tonight’s transfer deadline.
Another player potentially available is attacker Gabriel Agbonlahor, who has been given a second chance by manager Bruce, but has yet to score in 447 minutes of Championship football this season.
With Hogan arriving, Jonathan Kodjia returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, and Ross McCormack, Libor Kozak and Rushian Hepburn-Murphy still at the club, Agbonlahor could be expendable – but whether they can find buyers for Elphick and Agbonlahor with just hours of the window left remains to be seen.
