Aston Villa officials are waiting to hear of their budget for the summer, as Steve Bruce fears missing out on transfer targets.

According to a report in the Express and Star, Aston Villa officials are fearing that they could miss out on key transfer targets, as they wait for Tony Xia to set their budget.

Steve Bruce is still awaiting permission from Xia to secure his transfer targets this summer, as he weighs up his options.

Bruce knows that he will have to cut costs at Villa this summer, although he is currently not fully clear over what his budget will be.

And Villa reportedly fear that they are missing opportunities to sign players, as Xia still ponders his next move.

Bruce has made contract with Robert Huth, who is available on a free transfer, but he cannot sign off any transfer yet.

Xia is desperately looking to secure added finance from outside sources, as he looks to help Villa comply with Financial Fair Play instructions.

The claret and blues are expected to lose many of their key players this summer, after being beaten by Fulham in the play off final and missing out on promotion last term.
