Aston Villa are keen on Reading midfielder John Swift, according to the Reading Chronicle.
Villa are planning for life without Jack Grealish, with their star man believed to be very much in demand.
Swift has now emerged as a target on Villa’s radar, after his excellent season at Championship level.
The 25-year-old has scored six goals and claimed 10 assists for the Royals, with his performances attracting admiring glances.
Stylistically the comparisons between Swift and Grealish are obvious, as the pair are both excellent technical operators.
Although Grealish may have proven himself more at the top level, Swift seems to have the capabilities to make an impact in the Premier League.

And Villa fans will surely be encouraged to read Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa’s opinion on their latest target.
“Swift is a great player,” Bielsa said to Leeds Live back in February.
“I value him a lot. He is a player who appears suddenly in attack and the same in transition between defence and attack, but especially when he passes from the defence to the attack.”
