Aston Villa now want to sign Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe permanently rather than on loan as previously claimed.
That’s according to The Telegraph, who claim that United will consider offers because Tuanzebe’s contract expires in 2022.
United may see this as the last chance to land a considerable fee for Tuanzebe, and Villa are looking to land him on a full-time deal.
This update comes after the Express and Star reported last week that Villa had asked about taking Tuanzebe on loan.

Villa fans may not want to hear it, but there is a chance that Jack Grealish moves on and the windfall of cash helps Villa land Tuanzebe.
Villa already have a settled centre back pairing in Ezri Konsa and Tyrone Mings, but with Dean Smith’s men really pushing for European football, adding more competition is a great idea.
Tuanzebe, 23, has only played 19 league games for United, and with Raphael Varane on his way in, may feel it’s time to leave Old Trafford and play regularly elsewhere.
After two loan spells at Villa, winning promotion in the second, Tuanzebe remains popular at Villa Park and would surely be a signing that many support.
Praised as ‘tremendous’ by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Tuanzebe is clearly rated at Old Trafford, but Villa will be hoping to prise him away from the Red Devils and bring him back to Villa Park.
