Aston Villa are keen on Samuel Chukwueze this summer as they prepare to fight Liverpool and Real Madrid for his signature.

Unai Emery wants Samuel Chukwueze at Aston Villa

Spanish newspaper SPORT report that Chukwueze is attracting enormous interest ahead of the summer window.

It’s suggested that Aston Villa boss Emery is ‘very interested’ in signing Chukwueze this summer.

The report claims that Real Madrid were hoping to secure Chukwueze’s signature for around €50million (£44million) this summer.

However, Villa’s interest is causing a problem for Real, even if many would assume that would be an easy decision.

Liverpool, Arsenal, Everton and West Ham United are also named in the report as being interested in signing Chukwueze this summer.

The race for Chukwueze is heating up but Emery will hope that his history with the winger will put Villa in a strong position.

Emery has already worked with Chukwueze

Chukwueze, 23, has been enjoying a fine season with Villarreal having racked up 13 goals and 11 assists in all competitions.

The Nigerian has blistering pace and has provided the end product to match this season.

Chukwueze has also worked closely with Emery over the years having been together at Villarreal.

The wide man played 94 times under Emery – more than he has ever played under any manager.

Chukwueze hit 14 goals and 15 assists under Emery and has previously spoken highly of the Spaniard.

Speaking to BBC Sport last year, Chukwueze praised Emery for doing ‘a very nice job’ in terms of helping him finish chances.

The goals have been flowing this season with Emery’s work clearly paying dividends for Chukwueze.

Beating the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool and Arsenal won’t be easy but that personal connection with Emery may just help Villa.
