Aston Villa reportedly saw a £14 million bid for Said Benrahma rejected by Brentford.

According to a report from Sky Sports, Aston Villa are not planning to increase their offer for Said Benrahma after seeing their recent £14 million bid rejected by Brentford.
The Villans have been incredibly busy this summer ahead of their return to the Premier League, and Sky Sports reports that Dean Smith is close to getting another target through the door with Trezeguet agreeing a move to Villa Park.
Sky Sports reports that it is not clear whether the Egypt international’s seemingly-imminent arrival has led to Villa moving on from Benrahma completely, but a Sky source has reportedly claimed that they have no plans to test the Bees’ resolve to keep the 23-year-old with an improved offer after having a £14 million turned down.
The report adds that Benrahma is keen to make the switch to Villa and link up with former boss Smith.

Benrahma was outstanding in the Championship last season, scoring 10 goals and contributing 14 assists. It is no surprise that Brentford are not planning to make it easy for a move to be agreed, and they are likely to be delighted that Villa are seemingly reluctant to make a fresh bid.
But as the deadline looms and Smith takes one final look at his squad before the new campaign begins, perhaps he may push for one final attempt to be made to make Benrahma the last name brought in.
