Aston Villa reportedly plot ambitious move.

This would be a real turn up for the books, in another unpredictable summer at Aston Villa.

Italian website Tuttomercatoweb claim the club is planning to try and sign Yerry Mina from Barcelona.

Barcelona are currently seeking to move Mina on as they are already at their limit of non-EU players after signing Malcom from Bordeaux.

Interest is already high in centre-back Mina after he scored three goals for Colombia at the World Cup.

TMW report Aston Villa are plotting an ambitious move for the powerful defender.

The report states Villa have made an offer worth 10 million Euros for Mina plus bonuses.

Villa have been in financial difficulty this summer, and it is claimed this deal is being financed by new investor, Egyptian billionaire Nassef Sawiris.

Unfortunately for Villa, they face stiff competition.

The Mirror report Manchester United are keen to sign Mina and have sent representatives to Barcelona to hold talks over a transfer, with it claimed he could cost as much as £35 million.
