Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce wants some defensive additions.
According to West London Sport, Aston Villa are looking to sign Steven Caulker on a trial basis.
Caulker is currently out of contract and looking for a new club, and Steve Bruce feels he could be a good option.
Caulker’s career has stalled in recent times, and Bruce wants to take a closer look at the centre-back before committing to buy him.
But Villa are thought to be considering making a move for the former England international.
Caulker was once considered to be one of England’s brightest defensive prospects, but off the field problems rather derailed his career.
The centre-back most recently played for Dundee, but triggered a release clause in his contract and is now free to sign for another club.
Villa are known to be looking for a centre-back, as their current options in the position are very short.
