Aston Villa, Leeds and Everton have been given a potential boost in their race to sign Sergio Romero as his representatives try to push for a move, according to a report.
The Manchester Evening News have claimed that Romero changed agents earlier on this year and they are now trying to whip up interest in the now seemingly third-choice United goalkeeper.
Villa, Leeds and Everton have all reportedly been interested parties in the race for the 33-year-old’s signature, according to ESPN and the Daily Mail.
Dean Smith’s number one at Villa Park is Tom Heaton, but he is still making a return from injury and will miss the start of the campaign.
That then leaves the likes of Orjan Nyland, Jed Steer and Lovre Kalinic as options, but all have struggled to cement their place as a number one.
As for Carlo Ancelotti, he has Jordan Pickford as his main guy, but he has been under pressure for some while now because of his continued mistakes in between the sticks.

As for newly-promoted Leeds, Kiko Casilla has been their number one for large parts, whilst the highly-rated youngster, Illan Meslier, impressed when given the chance to deputise last season.
Whilst Casilla’s performances improved during Leeds’ promotion-winning campaign, there is still that uncertainty that, just like Pickford, he has a mistake in him.
Romero’s age may well be off-putting for some, but the 96-cap Argentina international has some serious experience under his belt, which would be very useful.
Not only that, but it also seems as though he is heading for the Old Trafford exit doors, regardless of where he ends up because David de Gea is United’s number one, whilst Dean Henderson, who thrived at Sheffield United last season, has signed a new contract and is now tasked to push the previously error-prone Spanish keeper.
